Hey everyone! Happy March! While February might be over and Rare Disease Day has flown by, that does not mean we are stopping all of the action! This month, we would like you to meet Zoe, a very special Fighting H.A.R.D. kid with a mission to deliver positivity and kindness to everyone she meets! Zoe is our featured rockstar for this month, and we hope you will take some time to read a little bit about her and her story!
Zoe has a rare disease called Syringomyelia. Syringomyelia is a two-century-old spinal cord disease that often stems from Chiara Malformation. People with this disease tend to endure pain and stiffness all over the body, the curvature of the spine, loss of reflexes, headaches, and more! However, this disease does not stop Zoe from living her absolute best life.
Zoe is a HUGE supporter of Fighting HARD! She brings her joy, kindness, and enthusiasm to every event, and she has made some great lifelong friends in the foundation. Zoe was even one of our top fundraisers for our first-ever virtual run! One of the most incredible things she has done is help to set up a fundraiser with Mueller's Bakery where they made Fighting H.A.R.D. cookies! (See image).
The world needs more strong kiddos like Zoe, who embrace every ounce of who they are and use that to change the world for the better. Zoe, you're a rockstar!
If you or someone you know has Syringomyelia or Chiari Malformation, you are NOT alone! Keep Fighting H.A.R.D., we love you!
